Your About Page Sells

Many About pages read like a corporate press release: founded years, mission statements, and a list of values nobody asked for. It is a wasted opportunity, because the About page is one of the most visited pages on a site, and people come there wanting to know who they are dealing with. A real story is worth more than a company history.

People buy from people

Show the faces behind the business and tell the story honestly. Why did you start? What do you care about? What has the journey been like? A genuine story builds the kind of connection that polished corporate language never does. Visitors who feel they know you are far more likely to trust you.

Turn the page toward the reader

Connect your story back to the customer. Your background matters because it explains why you can help them. End with an invitation, a next step, or a link to your work. A great About page introduces the people and then hands the visitor a clear reason to continue.
