Your Website Is a Salesperson

Your website works around the clock. It welcomes visitors at midnight, answers their questions, and makes the case for your business while you sleep. The question is whether it is doing a good job. Would you hire a salesperson who mumbles, loses track of the point, or forgets to ask for the sale? If not, your copy needs work.

Give it a script worth reading

Think of your pages as a conversation. The homepage introduces you, the service pages explain the solution, and the contact page asks for the next step. Every page should know its role and say its lines clearly. Confusing, generic copy is the online equivalent of a salesperson who does not know the product.

Let it close the deal

A salesperson should never leave the customer wondering what to do next, and neither should your website. Put a clear call to action on every important page and make the path forward obvious. When your site knows how to guide a visitor from interest to action, it becomes the hardest-working member of your team.
