Navigation Is a Promise

A website menu looks like a small design detail, but it carries a message. The items you choose and the order you put them in tell visitors what matters to you. When everything is labeled a priority, nothing is. Good navigation is a promise about what the visitor can expect to find.

Fewer items, clearer signal

A long menu overwhelms people and dilutes every choice. Keep the list short and label items in plain, familiar words. Use terms your customers would search for, not internal jargon. Each item should earn its place by representing something a visitor genuinely wants to find.

Guide the journey

Think of navigation as a map, not a directory. Lead with the most important destinations and arrange the rest logically. Make it easy to get back home and easy to reach the pages that convert. When the menu feels effortless, the visitor trusts that the whole experience will be too.
